Roller Wear Surfaces

· Various Roller Surfaces are available depending on the application of the Roller Press

· Hard Faced Welded Profiled is the most common roller surface for most applications. Layers of welded on material are placed on a solid roller core. Roller surface can be regenerated when necessary.

· ILP (interrupted line profile) and Studded surfaces are used in special applications. Both offer Autogenous wear protection. ILP surfaces can be regenerated as necessary. Studded surfaces are replaced when worn out.

· Other special applications allow for replaceable roller segments.

Roller Design

· Depending on the application, Rollers are supplied as either a solid one piece Roller and Shaft or as a two piece Shaft with shrunk on Roller.

Bearing Design

· Except for very small machines, the Bearings for the Rollers are 4-row cylindrical roller bearings. They are oil lubricated and cooled with a separate lubrication unit.

· Cylindrical Bearings allow for higher ratings than spherical bearings of the same diameter. Therefore the Roller Diameter is not dependent on the diameter of the bearing, but on the required process parameters.

Roller Press Drive

· Fixed and Variable Speed drives are used depending on the application of the Roller Press. Each drive system includes cardan shafts and couplings (either fluid or torque limiting) connected to a planetary gearbox which is shaft mounted onto each Roller connected by a shrink disk coupling. Smaller Roller Presses (less than 400 kW motors) can be supplied with a V-Belt drive instead of the cardan shaft system.
